Eden's Table

Eden's Table is a 36 week Biblical herbalism curriculum for homeschool families. One plant each week, studied slowly, woven through every subject rather than added on top of an already full day. The premise is simple. Yahweh filled a garden with provision before He gave His people anything else to work with, and He asks us to steward the bodies He made. Eden's Table teaches children to see creation as provision and themselves as stewards, so that health becomes something they understand and carry rather than something they outsource. A typical week opens with a read aloud story at the Eden family table, where Vovó, PopPop, and the children meet the week's plant in the middle of ordinary family life. From there the week moves through one subject a day, laid out on a Week at a Glance page: Bible, science, language arts, math, art, history, geography, Latin, health, and character. The student notebook carries the week's written and hands on work. The teacher's guide is written so a parent can open it and teach without preparing the night before. Most children's health material is either a list of symptoms and remedies or a coloring page. This is neither. Each plant is taught through its history, its Latin name, its parts and their function, its place in Scripture, and its careful and appropriate use. Children learn how the body works and how to care for it, not "take this for that." Safety, and honesty about what plants do and do not do, is built into the lessons rather than added as a disclaimer at the end. The material is written for multi age teaching, so siblings can sit at the same table and work at their own depth. Sprouts (K-2) is available now. Seedlings (3-5) releases next, followed by Cultivators (6-8) and Practitioners (9-12).
