Before entering education, Katharine spent more than 26 years as a professional television writer and producer in Los Angeles, crafting some of the most highly successful TV shows to date. It was there that she developed a deep understanding of storytelling and the cathartic power of clear, engaging writing. She now brings those skills into the classroom and her one-on-one work with students. Katharine has experience teaching and supporting students across all grade levels and specializes in English Language Arts, creative writing, and reading comprehension. Her approach is warm, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s strengths, challenges, learning style, and goals. In addition to academic tutoring, Katharine offers individualized instruction in filmmaking, screenwriting, and photography, giving students the opportunity to explore creative storytelling through both words and images. Drawing on her extensive professional experience in television and the visual arts, she helps students develop their own creative voices while learning the fundamentals of story and composition. Through Trask Teaches, Katharine strives to do more than help students complete assignments or improve grades. Her goal is to help students become stronger writers, more confident readers, creative thinkers, and capable learners who take genuine pride in their progress.
