Trinity Arch Preparatory School for Boys

Phoenix•4-12

A Christian hybrid small school where boys grow in wisdom, character, and purpose. We partner with Christian homeschooling families to provide an exceptional education for boys ages 10–18. Through small tutorial groups, outstanding male mentors, rigorous academics including dual enrollment opportunities for high school students, daily physical training, and more than 15 expeditions each year, boys develop the confidence, discipline, and leadership needed to flourish. School at Trinity Arch looks different from a traditional classroom. Boys spend their days in small tutorial groups with expert tutors who know them personally, engage in rigorous academics, participate in Socratic discussions, pursue independent "Deep Think" projects, play chess, train physically each day, and explore Arizona through expeditions. Our goal is to cultivate young men who love learning, embrace responsibility, and are prepared to lead lives of faith, service, and purpose. Every family is different. We offer flexible scheduling options and work alongside parents to design a program that complements their homeschooling journey. Many families qualify for significant scholarship assistance, making a Trinity Arch education more affordable than they might expect. We intentionally limit enrollment so every boy is truly known, challenged, and encouraged. If you're looking for a Christ-centered community where your son can flourish academically, physically, socially, and spiritually, we'd love to meet your family.

Flagstaff's Christian homeschool community is close-knit but small compared to the Valley, and the local tutor pool reflects that. The good news: Arizona ESA covers online tutoring, and Northern Arizona homeschool families have the same access to top Christian tutors as families in Phoenix.

What Flagstaff Families Actually Do

Two practical paths for Flagstaff homeschool families needing a tutor:

  1. Hire online. For math (elementary through Calculus), reading, writing, Latin, Chemistry, and test prep, online tutoring is the default in Northern Arizona. Rates match Valley in-person rates and the pool is much deeper.
  2. Ask at your co-op or microschool. Teachers at Flagstaff Christian microschools and staff at Flagstaff Christian co-ops commonly tutor in afternoons and on weekends.

When Flagstaff Families Hire a Tutor

  • Math has stalled — Saxon Algebra 1, Math-U-See Zeta, Teaching Textbooks Precalculus.
  • A struggling or dyslexic reader — Orton-Gillingham or Barton specialists (almost always online for rural AZ).
  • High school has moved past what a parent can teach — Chemistry, Latin, Advanced Math, college prep.
  • Test prep — ACT, SAT, or CLT.

What Tutors Serving Flagstaff Charge

  • Elementary: $35-$60/hour
  • Middle school: $45-$75/hour
  • High school math and sciences: $50-$90/hour
  • Test prep / specialty: $60-$120/hour

Most Flagstaff ESA families cover the full rate through ClassWallet.

Arizona ESA for Flagstaff Tutors

Tutoring is an approved Arizona ESA expense — including online tutoring. Individual tutors need at least a high school diploma; tutoring businesses need accreditation or a signed attestation. Payment through ClassWallet — direct pay if the tutor is a registered vendor, otherwise reimbursement with an itemized invoice.

For Northern Arizona families, online is a feature not a compromise: you're not limited to who happens to live within driving distance of Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, or Page.

Vetting an Online Christian Tutor

  • Ask about their statement of faith and teaching background.
  • Confirm subject specialty and grade-level fit.
  • Ask for homeschool-family references specifically.
  • Confirm ESA vendor status or reimbursement flow.
  • Do a trial session before committing to a semester.
  • For elementary phonics or hands-on math, weigh whether a local in-person tutor is worth waiting for.

Educational Therapy
Mesa, AZ

Brain Regeneration Clinic - Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback exercises our “neurological muscles,” retrains the brain, improves neuroplasticity, and allows the brain to reorganize, learn new patterns of behavior, and become de-habituated from “stuck” patterns that represent suboptimal processing. This therapy is proving to be beneficial in treating a wide range of difficult conditions otherwise unresponsive to conventional treatments: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Post-Concussion Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression, Autism, and Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD/ADHD). Neurofeedback therapy results in a healthier, more flexible, efficient, and higher-functioning brain. When the brain networks function optimally for that individual the nervous system begins more intelligently to self-regulate. These long-term benefits of neurofeedback are independent of age, comprehension, physical ability, and mental capacity. Neurofeedback has now been used clincially for nearly 40 years. It stands as one of the only means of treating the brain and its dysfunction (less than optimal functioning) without the use of prescription medications.

Educational Therapy
Glendale, AZ

Word Play, LLC

Word Play Pediatric Therapy partners with Arizona Christian homeschool families to help children communicate, learn, participate, and grow with confidence. We provide individualized speech-language-feeding services for children who may need additional support with communication, language development, articulation, literacy-related skills, social interaction, feeding, sensory regulation, or everyday participation. Our family-centered approach respects each family’s Christian faith, values, educational philosophy, and role as the child’s primary teacher. A typical week may include an individualized therapy session, practical activities connected to the child’s homeschool routine, and caregiver coaching that helps families carry new skills into daily life. Rather than separating therapy from education, our clinicians look for meaningful ways to support participation in lessons, reading, writing, family routines, church activities, community experiences, and peer relationships. Recommendations are tailored to each child’s abilities, goals, interests, learning style, and homeschool curriculum whenever possible. We serve families seeking a more personal and collaborative alternative to traditional school-based services, including children with developmental delays, disabilities, neurodivergent learning profiles, or specific speech, language, motor, sensory, and feeding needs. We also support families who simply want professional guidance, a comprehensive evaluation, or targeted intervention in an area where their child is struggling. What makes Word Play distinct is our combination of clinical expertise, flexibility, and genuine partnership with parents. We recognize that homeschool families know their children deeply and have intentionally chosen an educational path that reflects their priorities. Our role is not to replace that relationship, but to strengthen it by providing evidence-based care, understandable recommendations, and strategies that are realistic for home and community life. We want every family to feel heard, respected, and equipped—and every child to experience therapy as a place where they are known, encouraged, and capable of meaningful progress.
