Typing Scripture
Arizona
About
Typing Scripture is a keyboarding curriculum for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade that uses Bible verses as the practice text. Instead of typing "asdf jkl;" over and over, your children build real touch-typing skills while spending time in God's Word. Every lesson is a verse. By the time they've mastered the home row and worked their way up to full speed, they've also spent hours reading, absorbing, and yes, memorizing scripture without it ever feeling like a chore. I built it to grow with your child. The lessons are organized into three grade bands so nobody feels lost or bored. The youngest learners (K–2) start with short, simple phrases and get an on-screen keyboard that highlights the next key to press, so little fingers always know where to go. The middle group (3–5) moves into full verses, building speed and accuracy at a comfortable pace. Older kids (6–8) take on longer passages and learn to handle punctuation and capitalization like confident typists. Each child works right at their level, and the program moves forward as they do. You'll see their progress in real time. As your child types, correct letters turn green and mistakes turn red, so they learn to slow down and get it right rather than race ahead. Younger kids earn stars and encouragement; older ones can watch their words-per-minute and accuracy climb. Finishing a verse marks it as learned, and those small wins add up to real motivation. There's a simple parent dashboard too, so you can assign specific verses or memory passages and check in on how each of your children is doing, all from one place. What I love most is that it doesn't feel like two separate subjects stacked on top of each other. It's one gentle habit that quietly does double duty. Typing is a skill your kids will use for the rest of their lives, and scripture is something you already want woven into their days. Typing Scripture brings the two together so your school time goes further. It's easy to start, works right in your browser, and was made by a homeschool family for homeschool families. For those of you here in Arizona, it's built as a keyboarding curriculum that many families are able to fund with their ESA dollars, and you'll find it alongside the rest of my free homeschool resources at arizonachristianhomeschools.com. I hope Typing Scripture becomes a small, steady blessing in your homeschool the way it has in mine. Come give it a try, and let your children's practice time count for something eternal.
