Elementary Writing Tutor
Helping Students Become Confident Readers and Writers I'm Kristi Wolch, M.Ed., founder of Elementary Writing Tutor. I provide one-on-one online reading and writing tutoring for students in grades 4–8, with a special focus on neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia traits, executive functioning challenges, and reluctant writers. I also support homeschool families who want extra guidance teaching reading and writing at home. Every child learns differently, so every lesson is personalized. Before instruction begins, I assess each student's strengths and areas of need, then create an individualized plan that builds skills step by step. Sessions combine explicit instruction, engaging activities, and plenty of encouragement so students gain both academic skills and confidence. Whether we're strengthening reading comprehension, improving sentence writing, organizing essays, building vocabulary, or mastering grammar, each lesson is designed to support student growth. My background includes more than 10 years as a special education classroom teacher, followed by over a decade of private tutoring. I also hold a master’s degree in special education from the University of Washington. Since 2015, I've worked with students both online and in person, helping children who struggle with reading and writing become more independent learners. I love finding creative ways to make challenging concepts manageable, especially for students who have begun to believe they "just aren't good at writing or reading." Families often tell me that their children not only improve academically but also become more willing to write, participate in reading activities, and tackle assignments independently. My goal is to help students develop the confidence, communication skills, and learning strategies that will serve them for years to come. I believe parents are valuable partners in the learning process, and I work hard to make sure they understand their child's progress and know how to support learning between sessions. My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and guides the way I serve others with kindness, integrity, and compassion. While faith is not the focus of tutoring, I am comfortable teaching with Christian curriculum and publishers when families request them. I always respect each family's preferences and follow their lead regarding faith-based discussions during lessons. If you're looking for a patient, experienced tutor who understands how to meet students where they are and help them grow, I'd love the opportunity to support your child in becoming a more confident, capable reader and writer.

Serving students in kindergarten through 8th grade, Thrive partners with families who desire a Christ-centered learning environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Unlike traditional online schools that require every student to follow the same schedule and learning path, Thrive Online Academy believes education should be personalized around each child’s unique needs, learning style, pace, and goals. Students learn from home while receiving the level of teacher support that best fits their family’s needs. Through individualized instruction, flexible scheduling, and meaningful relationships with teachers, Thrive provides students with the structure of a school while maintaining the flexibility many homeschool families value. Thrive offers four personalized learning options: Minimum – $4,000/year Designed for motivated learners who thrive with independence. Students complete coursework at their own pace while families provide daily oversight and support. This option includes curriculum access and academic structure without live teacher support. Families may pay $4,500 when paying in full or $1,500 quarterly. Advanced – $8,000/year Designed for students who need more direct instruction and personalized academic assistance. Elite – $10,000/year Designed for students who benefit from the highest level of individualized instruction and structured support. Students receive 6 hours of live teacher support each week with minimal homework outside of instruction time. This package also includes chapel and two student clubs, allowing students to receive strong academic support while developing friendships and community. Families may pay $7,500 when paying in full or $2,500 quarterly. At Thrive Online Academy, students experience more than academics—they become part of a supportive Christian community. We understand that one concern many online and homeschool families have is ensuring students have opportunities to connect with other children. That is why Thrive provides virtual chapel experiences and student clubs where learners can build friendships, discover shared interests, and develop meaningful connections with classmates. Through chapel, students gather together to worship, learn biblical truths, and grow in their faith. Through clubs, students participate in engaging activities such as Bible study, creative writing, book clubs, art, music, and other enrichment opportunities. These experiences help students develop collaboration skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging while learning from home. Thrive Online Academy combines Christian curriculum, personalized teacher support, flexible scheduling, and community-building opportunities to create a unique online school experience. Students benefit from the freedom of homeschool-style learning while still having access to teachers, classmates, chapel, clubs, and a structured academic environment. Thrive Online Academy is also an approved Education Savings Account (ESA) provider, allowing eligible families in participating states to use ESA and scholarship funds toward tuition costs. Thrive works to make high-quality Christian education more accessible by helping families utilize available educational funding opportunities. Our mission is to connect faith and learning through Christ-centered teaching, personalized support, and strong family partnerships. Write Well Academy - College Esssay and Writing Tutor, Writing Professor
Hello, my students call me Ms. Kelly. I help students become stronger, more confident writers without taking over their work. My goal is to help students understand how writing works, find their own voice, and develop a process they can use again and again. I want them to leave tutoring with more than a finished assignment. I want them to know how to begin when stuck, organize ideas, revise thoughtfully, and trust themselves as writers. A typical week is shaped around the student rather than a rigid curriculum. We may work on a homeschool essay, prepare for AP English Language, strengthen grammar and sentence structure, practice literary or rhetorical analysis, develop research skills, or revise a college or scholarship essay. I keep the work focused and manageable, with clear next steps rather than a mountain of corrections. I work with students from middle school through college, including reluctant writers, advanced writers who need deeper feedback, and students who have struggled with traditional writing instruction. I also support families preparing for dual enrollment, AP courses, college-level writing, and the college application process. Parents are kept informed, while students are encouraged to take ownership of their work and become more independent. I teach writing as a process, not a formula. I have more than 25 years of experience teaching college writing and supporting developing writers. My background includes composition and rhetoric, AP English Language instruction and scoring, student success coaching, college essay coaching, and expressive writing. Write Well Academy offers flexible, individualized online instruction and is an approved Arizona ESA vendor. Each student’s work is built around current needs, family goals, academic plans, and long-term growth. If your student is preparing for college application season, I am happy to send you a free college essay workbook with no obligation.

Brittany Dakhi- Whole Child Learning
Hi! I’m Brittany, a certified elementary teacher, gifted and ESOL endorsed, and a homeschool mom who is passionate about helping children grow in both their academic skills and their confidence as learners. After years in the classroom, I’ve seen that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to take risks. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that learning is not just about finding the right answer—it’s about building curiosity, perseverance, and the confidence to keep trying. I love creating engaging lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. I offer personalized virtual 1:1 tutoring for students in kindergarten through 4th grade, focusing on reading, writing, and math skills. We help with math, reading, writing, science, Spanish, executive function skills, special education support, college readiness, SAT prep, and ACT prep. While we also support public, private, and charter school students, we especially value the opportunity to partner with homeschool families who are intentionally shaping their child’s education. Each student receives a customized learning plan built around parent guidance, internal resources, assessments, and the student’s unique strengths and challenges. Our tutors bring creativity, encouragement, and structure to each session while respecting the family’s educational goals and values. Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee is an approved ESA and ClassWallet vendor and a Preferred Partner of AZ Friends of Foster Children Foundation.
Uncommon Ground Collective
At Uncommon Ground Collective, my mission is to help students grow in confidence, develop a love of learning, and discover their unique strengths through individualized, engaging instruction. I believe every child learns differently, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged, challenged, and understood. A typical week includes one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's needs in reading, writing, language arts, study skills, executive functioning, and homeschool support. Lessons are interactive and personalized, incorporating discussion, games, hands-on activities, and real-world connections rather than relying solely on worksheets. What makes Uncommon Ground Collective unique is the emphasis on the whole child. As a graduate counseling student and substitute teacher, I bring an understanding of child development, relationship-building, and social-emotional growth into every tutoring session. My goal is not only to improve academic skills but also to help students build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong enjoyment of learning.
Valerie C.’s Tutoring Service
Hi! I’m Valerie Coccimiglio, and I’m an Arizona certified Special Ed and Elementary Ed teacher. Education is a passion of mine, and I have over 20 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. As a homeschool mama myself, I love supporting other homeschool families and helping students build confidence and thrive on their education journey! For this upcoming school year, I am offering tutoring services out of my home in the Northwest Valley for all elementary grades. I am in the North Peoria/Surprise area near 119th Ave. and Williams. I typically do one on one tutoring lessons but can offer small group lessons with 2 to 4 students. Parents usually have me help their child with reading, math, or writing. I am familiar with Orton-Gillingham curricula such as All About Reading and Barton Reading & Spelling as well as explicit and systematic reading intervention programs such as Phonics for Reading. I am an ESA vendor and can provide invoices for direct pay or reimbursement. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I look forward to talking with you!
Verde Valley Academic Mentorship & K–12 Homeschool Tutoring
My Mission I partner with Christian homeschool families to provide top-tier academic excellence with compassionate, character-driven mentorship. By blending rigorous standards with a gentle, trauma-informed approach, I ensure every student feels safe, seen, and supported to unlock their God-given potential. What Makes This Program Distinct I bring the standards of a Columbia University Ivy League Recruit, an International Scholar Laureate, and a Phi Theta Kappa member to your routine. But achievements mean nothing without service. Grounded in a Biblical Studies certification from Sedona International School of Ministry, my approach focuses on trauma-informed care and a "Going the Extra Mile - G.E.M. Award" philosophy of putting people first. As former Associate Director for the Cottonwood/Sedona Healing Rooms ministry, a local "Teacher of the Month," and a Cottonwood G.E.M. Award recipient, my commitment to going the extra mile is proven in our community. I bring this deep patience to students with unique learning differences or trauma-informed needs. The Families I Serve & Weekly Routine I serve families across the Verde Valley (Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cornville, Clarkdale, & Sedona). I design flexible daytime sessions tailored to your schedule: K–5: Phonics, reading comprehension, and hands-on math to spark joy. 6–8: Pre-algebra readiness, formal essay structure, and independent study habits. 9–12: Advanced subject mastery, transcript enrichment, and college-prep mentorship. I remain a steady academic partner, communicating progress clearly so we can celebrate every breakthrough together.
