AZ
RCA International, short for Riviera Christian Academy International, is an accredited online Christian school serving students in grades 3–12. Arizona families can explore several enrollment paths, including full-time online school, selected-course or hybrid enrollment, and support for homeschool families. RCA International accepts approved Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account funds through ClassWallet. Arizona determines each family’s eligibility, available funding, permitted expenses, and payment approval. Students in grades 3–8 follow established grade-level plans covering core academic subjects, health and physical education, and available electives. Admissions confirms grade placement and whether full-time or selected-course enrollment is the right fit. High-school students can receive transcript and transfer-credit review, course planning, and a clear path toward RCA International’s 24-credit graduation requirement. Full-time high-school enrollment includes six courses per semester. Families that do not need a full-time schedule can ask about individual standard courses or hybrid enrollment. Homeschool families can discuss full-time enrollment, selected courses, curriculum-only support, transcript review, and graduation planning. Tutoring may also be available when additional academic support is appropriate. RCA International is accredited by Accreditation International and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). Enrollment is completed through RCA International’s admissions process. Families begin with a short inquiry so admissions can review the student’s grade, goals, current school situation, ESA status, and appropriate next step. Dual credit: Eligible RCA International students may explore approved dual-credit courses through Corban University. RCA International confirms student and enrollment-path eligibility before registration. Corban University dual-credit courses carry a $150 fee per course, per term or semester. This option is not currently available to homeschool high-school families.

Lion Revival Homeschool Academy
Our remote learning classes are for K-6th grade. We use SeeSaw rather than google classroom or another system that is not made for elementary students. Seesaw is intuitive for the younger students and can be used on an iPad. Learning is asynchronous, so the schedule is yours. The teacher has a Master’s degree in reading and is very encouraging and patient. We offer reading, English language arts, math, science, social studies, art, computers, Spanish, sign language, and Biblical studies. You can register for all the classes or just one or two!

Private online schools are ESA-eligible, public online schools are not
Arizona ESA can pay tuition at a Qualified School, meaning a nonpublic K-12 program with an academic curriculum. Accredited private online schools qualify. Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) programs run by public districts or charters do not — ASU Prep Digital, Arizona Virtual Academy, Primavera, Insight Academy, and Hope High Online are all public schools, and enrolling ends ESA eligibility for that period. Full-time enrollment vs. a la carte online courses
Full-time enrollment means the online school holds the transcript and issues the diploma; your student is a private school student and tuition is a single ESA line item, usually paid by ClassWallet Direct Pay. A la carte courses mean you keep the transcript while ESA pays for individual online classes as curriculum and instruction, most often by reimbursement. Both are eligible, but the paperwork differs.
How tuition gets paid
Most online schools are registered ClassWallet vendors, so you submit a Direct Pay Request with the invoice and ClassWallet pays the school directly. If a school is not yet a vendor, you can pay out of pocket and request reimbursement, which typically takes four to eight weeks, or ask the school to register. What to ask before you enroll
Confirm the school is private, not AOI. Ask who accredits it and whether accreditation is current. Ask whether it is a ClassWallet vendor and under what legal name. Ask for the all-in annual cost with tuition separated from fees. Ask what happens to enrollment if an ESA payment is delayed. A school that answers all five cleanly has served ESA families before.
Live cohort vs. self-paced
Live online cohorts meet on a schedule with a teacher and classmates, which suits students who need accountability and discussion, especially in classical and literature-heavy programs. Self-paced accredited programs cost less and fit athletes, travelers, and families with irregular schedules, but require a parent to keep pacing on track. Many Arizona families mix the two: live for writing and math, self-paced for electives.

- Is ASU Prep Digital ESA-approved?
- No. ASU Prep Digital is an Arizona Online Instruction public program. Enrolling in it ends ESA eligibility for that enrollment period.
- Can ESA pay an out-of-state online school?
- Yes. An out-of-state private online school can be paid with ESA as long as it is a legitimate accredited K-12 academic program.
- How much does a private online school cost in Arizona?

- Do I still file a homeschool affidavit if my child attends an online school?
- If the student is enrolled full time in a private online school, they are a private school student and no affidavit is required. ESA students also do not file an affidavit, since the ESA contract replaces it.
- Can I combine an online school with in-person enrichment?
- Yes, and most ESA families do. A common plan is an online core paid by Direct Pay plus a weekly co-op day, music, or sports paid by reimbursement.

Homeschooling and ESA-funded education are not the same thing
Under Arizona law these are two distinct pathways with different rules. We label every listing with the pathway it primarily serves so you know what you're signing up for.
Homeschooling (ARS §15-802)
Parent files an Affidavit of Intent. No public funds. Parent picks any curriculum and keeps full control. Co-ops, tutors, and enrichment are paid out of pocket.
ESA-funded education
Family signs the ESA contract and the affidavit is withdrawn. Quarterly funds flow through ClassWallet, expenses must fit ADE's allowable list, and receipts are required. Legally not homeschooling.
