At Excel At Math, we believe every student can grow in confidence and succeed in mathematics with the right instruction, encouragement, and support. We provide personalized, live virtual math tutoring for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, including Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, AP-level courses, and SAT and ACT math preparation. We also support college students and adult learners. Our goal is not simply to help students complete assignments, we help them understand mathematics, believe in their abilities, and become more independent learners. Each student begins with a comprehensive math diagnostic assessment that helps us identify strengths, learning gaps, and areas in which additional support may be needed. We then create an individualized learning plan based on the student’s needs, grade level, and academic goals. During a typical week, students participate in live, interactive sessions that may include targeted instruction, guided practice, homework assistance, test preparation, and reinforcement of foundational skills. Most students attend twice each week so they receive consistent instruction and have opportunities to apply what they are learning. Our tutors are patient, encouraging, and committed to explaining concepts in ways that make sense to each student. We help students learn how to interpret word problems, select effective strategies, organize their work, and explain their mathematical reasoning. Whether a student needs to close learning gaps, improve a grade, prepare for an important exam, or advance beyond the current curriculum, we meet that student at their present level and provide the support needed to move forward. Excel At Math is a Christian-owned business built on the values of excellence, integrity, respect, accountability, and service. We have developed meaningful relationships with churches and families in our community and understand the importance of partnering closely with parents. Families receive regular communication about their child’s progress, accomplishments, and continued areas for growth. We want parents to feel informed, supported, and confident that their child is receiving attentive, high-quality instruction. Our founder, Yasmine D. Julien, has more than 25 years of experience in education and holds a Master of Education in Mathematics Education. She has served as a mathematics teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and college-level math instructor. This depth of experience allows Excel At Math to provide far more than general homework help. Students receive thoughtful, diagnostic-based instruction from educators who understand how children learn and how to build lasting confidence.
