Write Well Academy - College Esssay and Writing Tutor, Writing Professor

AZMiddle, High School, College

Hello, my students call me Ms. Kelly. I help students become stronger, more confident writers without taking over their work. My goal is to help students understand how writing works, find their own voice, and develop a process they can use again and again. I want them to leave tutoring with more than a finished assignment. I want them to know how to begin when stuck, organize ideas, revise thoughtfully, and trust themselves as writers. A typical week is shaped around the student rather than a rigid curriculum. We may work on a homeschool essay, prepare for AP English Language, strengthen grammar and sentence structure, practice literary or rhetorical analysis, develop research skills, or revise a college or scholarship essay. I keep the work focused and manageable, with clear next steps rather than a mountain of corrections. I work with students from middle school through college, including reluctant writers, advanced writers who need deeper feedback, and students who have struggled with traditional writing instruction. I also support families preparing for dual enrollment, AP courses, college-level writing, and the college application process. Parents are kept informed, while students are encouraged to take ownership of their work and become more independent. I teach writing as a process, not a formula. I have more than 25 years of experience teaching college writing and supporting developing writers. My background includes composition and rhetoric, AP English Language instruction and scoring, student success coaching, college essay coaching, and expressive writing. Write Well Academy offers flexible, individualized online instruction and is an approved Arizona ESA vendor. Each student’s work is built around current needs, family goals, academic plans, and long-term growth. If your student is preparing for college application season, I am happy to send you a free college essay workbook with no obligation.

Elementary Writing Tutor

AZ4th - 8th grades

Helping Students Become Confident Readers and Writers I'm Kristi Wolch, M.Ed., founder of Elementary Writing Tutor. I provide one-on-one online reading and writing tutoring for students in grades 4–8, with a special focus on neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia traits, executive functioning challenges, and reluctant writers. I also support homeschool families who want extra guidance teaching reading and writing at home. Every child learns differently, so every lesson is personalized. Before instruction begins, I assess each student's strengths and areas of need, then create an individualized plan that builds skills step by step. Sessions combine explicit instruction, engaging activities, and plenty of encouragement so students gain both academic skills and confidence. Whether we're strengthening reading comprehension, improving sentence writing, organizing essays, building vocabulary, or mastering grammar, each lesson is designed to support student growth. My background includes more than 10 years as a special education classroom teacher, followed by over a decade of private tutoring. I also hold a master’s degree in special education from the University of Washington. Since 2015, I've worked with students both online and in person, helping children who struggle with reading and writing become more independent learners. I love finding creative ways to make challenging concepts manageable, especially for students who have begun to believe they "just aren't good at writing or reading." Families often tell me that their children not only improve academically but also become more willing to write, participate in reading activities, and tackle assignments independently. My goal is to help students develop the confidence, communication skills, and learning strategies that will serve them for years to come. I believe parents are valuable partners in the learning process, and I work hard to make sure they understand their child's progress and know how to support learning between sessions. My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and guides the way I serve others with kindness, integrity, and compassion. While faith is not the focus of tutoring, I am comfortable teaching with Christian curriculum and publishers when families request them. I always respect each family's preferences and follow their lead regarding faith-based discussions during lessons. If you're looking for a patient, experienced tutor who understands how to meet students where they are and help them grow, I'd love the opportunity to support your child in becoming a more confident, capable reader and writer.

Brittany Dakhi- Whole Child Learning

Hi! I’m Brittany, a certified elementary teacher, gifted and ESOL endorsed, and a homeschool mom who is passionate about helping children grow in both their academic skills and their confidence as learners. After years in the classroom, I’ve seen that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to take risks. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that learning is not just about finding the right answer—it’s about building curiosity, perseverance, and the confidence to keep trying. I love creating engaging lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. I offer personalized virtual 1:1 tutoring for students in kindergarten through 4th grade, focusing on reading, writing, and math skills. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of the student, whether they are building foundational skills, working toward grade-level goals, or looking for extra confidence and practice. I also offer small-group learning opportunities designed to combine academic growth with connection and community. My Virtual Kindergarten/1st Grade Homeschool Pod provides a structured, interactive environment where students can strengthen reading and math fluency while learning alongside peers. For students who want a fun and focused challenge, my Multiplication Camps help learners build multiplication fact fluency through games, activities, and strategies that make math more engaging and memorable (facts 2-12). My goal is to help every child see themselves as a capable learner. Whether through individual tutoring or a small group experience, I want students to leave each session feeling successful, encouraged, and excited to continue growing.

The Reading & Math Clinic

The Reading & Math Clinic specializes in providing individualized reading and/or math intervention for struggling learners who are below grade level in these skills. We utilize LIPS with Seeing Stars support and Math U See curricula; both programs entail systematic, explicit, multi-sensory instruction for students who do not respond to traditional instructional methods. We have had significant success with learners of all backgrounds, including those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, autism, ADHD, and speech and hearing deficits. To get started, schedule a free screening and consultation to determine if enrolling in our program is the right fit for you. Students typically attend 3-5x a week for 1-2 hour one-on-one lessons with our trained specialists. Lesson frequency varies based on individual need. Parents are debriefed after each lesson and provided with recommendations for home practice. Students also receive a homework folder to encourage home practice. Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons to inform their home practice. Students often improve in one or more foundational reading skill by one or more grade level in the first 40 hours of treatment. Our reading program takes about 80-120 hours to complete overall. Students complete testing every 40-50 hours to provide parents with detailed progress updates and recommendations for next steps. We collaborate closely with parents to establish a graduation date once all skills are at or above grade level.

Social Emotional Learning and Executive Functioning Classes and Workbooks

At Kelly Garashay Life Coaching, we help teens build the executive functioning, self-regulation, and real-world readiness skills that traditional academics don't teach — the kind that determine whether a young person can actually run their own life once they leave home. Our flagship program, Real World Workshop, meets weekly and walks teens through practical, hands-on topics like money management, food and cooking basics, and social navigation — each class taught first, then reinforced with a take-home cheat sheet so students leave with something they'll actually use again. We serve homeschool families in the Scottsdale and Prescott, Arizona area who want more for their teens than what's covered in a curriculum — parents who see the gap between "knows algebra" and "can function as an adult" and want a structured, judgment-free space to close it. Many of our families use ESA/ClassWallet funds, and we're an approved Arizona ESA vendor, so this fits easily into an existing homeschool budget. What makes us different is the "teach first, build second" approach: every class is shaped by what actually happens in the room with real teens, not a workbook written in isolation. That means the materials your student takes home are tested, not theoretical. Our tagline says it best: this is for families who can handle real life — and want their teens ready for it too.

Charchelly’s Culinary Academy

Charchelly’s Culinary Academy At Charchelly’s Culinary Academy, we believe the kitchen is where confidence, creativity, and life skills are built. Our mission is to reconnect children, teens, and families with the heart of the home by teaching real cooking—not just recipes, but the knowledge and techniques that create capable, confident home cooks for life. In a world filled with convenience foods and fast-paced schedules, we are committed to preserving the art of scratch cooking while making learning fun, engaging, and accessible for every student. Founded by Chef Charles, a culinary professional with over 20 years of industry experience, and Chef Michelle, a passionate recipe developer and educator, our academy blends professional culinary training with a warm, family-centered environment. Together, we teach students that cooking is more than preparing a meal—it’s a lifelong skill that builds independence, teamwork, problem-solving, math, science, cultural appreciation, and self-confidence. Our programs serve children, teens, homeschool families, and adults throughout Arizona. We offer weekly culinary classes, homeschool enrichment, birthday parties, private lessons, family cooking experiences, seasonal camps, workshops, and community events. Classes are intentionally kept small so every student receives individualized instruction, hands-on practice, and meaningful mentorship. A typical class begins with kitchen safety, sanitation, and an introduction to the day’s culinary skill. Students then practice professional techniques such as knife skills, measuring, food preparation, seasoning, cooking methods, baking fundamentals, and plating. Every student prepares food from scratch using fresh ingredients while learning the “why” behind each technique. Classes conclude with tasting, reflection, cleanup, and recipe discussions so students leave with both knowledge and confidence they can immediately use at home. Our curriculum goes far beyond simply following recipes. Students develop real-world culinary skills including: * Knife safety and proper cutting techniques * Kitchen organization and food safety * Baking and pastry fundamentals * International and cultural cuisine * Scratch cooking and meal preparation * Sauce making and seasoning * Budget-friendly meal planning * Nutrition and healthy cooking habits * Teamwork, communication, and leadership * Creativity and recipe development What truly makes Charchelly’s Culinary Academy different is our focus on building life skills through culinary education. Every lesson is designed to help students become more independent, confident, and capable both inside and outside the kitchen. We create an encouraging environment where mistakes become learning opportunities, curiosity is celebrated, and every student is empowered to succeed regardless of previous cooking experience. Whether a child dreams of becoming a chef, wants to help prepare family meals, needs practical life skills before adulthood, or simply enjoys creating something delicious, our academy provides a welcoming space where every student can grow. We aren’t just teaching people how to cook—we’re helping build confidence, strengthen families, preserve culinary traditions, and inspire the next generation to create meaningful memories around the table.

Forsaken Cowboy Tutoring

I'm a software developer with 7 years of experience. I have been an instructor in computer programming at both STEAM Studios AZ and iCode. I've taught robotics and drones, web development, game development, Scratch/Blockly, and 3D Modeling. I can help students learn how to use cloud and AI tools, if that's wanted. I also have the ability to teach enterprise level development using many different types of technologies: cloud services, containerization, container orchestration, software pipeline development, Git or subversion, microservices, databases, logs, and testing. I'm also skilled in cyber security. I worked for a short period of time as a Security Operations Center Analyst, triaging tickets and diagnosing potential threats. I've held a cyber security certification for 8 years. I would be happy to train your child in blue teaming. I individualize my learning plans to suit the needs of the student. Younger children will likely start with Scratch or Blockly, and robotics, so they can see the way programming affects the world around them. Older students will focus on more abstract topics, using what they learn to create websites and other programs. I have access to various hosting services that can help us host a website for free. The most exciting part of teaching is seeing when a struggling student catches on to a topic and excels. As a Christian, I ensure a family friendly environment for my students and can teach them at your home or in a public location in Metro Phoenix. We can discuss availability, but I'm most likely free in the mornings and all day on Saturdays.

Flute Lessons with Dr. Stone

My journey began when I was a 12-year old homeschooled girl, shy and stepping far out of my comfort zone to join a small church orchestra for a couple of rehearsals and a concert. I brought my recorder (spottily learned from a Teach Yourself Recorder book) and discovered that I knew far less than I had thought. A kind, skilled flutist sitting beside me took me under her wing and mentored me through the whole experience. I loved every bit of it! The orchestra swelled all around me like a stereo, and though I didn't have the confidence to play more than a few notes in one piece on the whole program, I knew that I wanted to learn to play the flute like the wonderful flutist who had guided me during that incredible weekend. I began taking lessons and becoming increasingly attached to the instrument, and before I knew it, I was auditioning for the music program at a prestigious university. I went all the way through college, receiving my Bachelor's, Master's, and finally Doctorate degrees, all in flute performance! My homeschool education prepared me in the very best way for my college studies and provided me with a strong work ethic, determination, and creativity. Now, my mission is to share the musical knowledge I've accumulated over the past 15+ years with as many homeschooled students as possible! I offer dedicated weekly online lessons to students from age 6 and upward, personalized to the individual student's needs and goals. Total beginners all the way through advanced musicians are welcome in my studio! Lessons are held via Zoom (using the Original Sound for Musicians feature).

I have taught as many as 24 students a week and worked with many musicians in local worship workshops. Automotive Learning Lab

Automotive Learning Lab provides hands-on automotive education designed to give students and families practical skills, confidence, and a better understanding of the vehicles they rely on every day. Our mission is to make automotive education approachable and accessible while teaching skills that encourage responsibility, independence, problem-solving, and good stewardship. Whether a student is interested in a future automotive career or simply wants to know how to safely care for a vehicle, we believe these are valuable skills that can serve them for a lifetime. Our classes are built around hands-on learning rather than lectures. Participants work with real vehicles, automotive components, tools, and training equipment while learning topics such as engine fundamentals, vehicle electrical systems, brakes, cooling systems, oil changes, roadside safety, under-car inspections, and general vehicle maintenance. A typical week may include private one-on-one lessons, small-group instruction, homeschool programs, or workshops hosted in partnership with schools and community organizations. We serve homeschool and ESA families, teens exploring skilled trades and automotive careers, adults wanting to become more confident vehicle owners, and younger students who simply love cars and learning how things work. Private lessons can be customized around the student's age, experience, interests, and goals, allowing families to choose an educational experience that works for their individual learner. What makes Automotive Learning Lab distinct is our emphasis on real-world experience. Students don't just learn what a brake rotor, multimeter, or engine component is, they have the opportunity to work with the equipment, ask questions, practice skills, and understand why those skills matter. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where curiosity is encouraged, safety comes first, and students leave each class with knowledge and confidence they can carry into everyday life.

MindBridge Math Mastery was founded with one mission: to help every student develop the confidence, skills, and understanding needed to thrive in mathematics. While I specialize in dyscalculia and other math learning differences, I work with students across the entire learning spectrum, from those who are years behind to gifted and advanced learners seeking enrichment and greater academic challenge. I am a Certified Teacher with a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction specializing in Mathematics Education, a Trained Educational Clinician, and have over a decade of classroom teaching experience. I have completed extensive specialized training in dyscalculia intervention, multisensory mathematics instruction, executive functioning, Reading Simplified, and NILD Educational Therapy.
