Williamsburg Academy

About

Williamsburg Academy is an accredited private online school for Arizona students in grades 6–12. Since 2008, our mission has been to prepare promising students for meaningful lives as principled leaders. Our courses teach students how to think rather than what to think. Wherever possible, students read original works from history’s great thinkers instead of textbooks written about them. At the heart of our curriculum is a signature leadership program that goes beyond academics. It helps students grow in their personal, social, professional, and financial lives. In a typical week, students attend engaging live online classes Monday through Thursday, taught by licensed, certified instructors who make even complex subjects fun. Between classes, students complete assignments on their own schedule and get meaningful feedback from their instructors. When they need extra help, they can join instructor office hours, study labs, and tutoring. Many families build the rest of the week around sports, the arts, travel, work, or other passions. Students also connect through online clubs and social activities. Parents stay informed through weekly Parent Updates, online parent meet-ups, and our 3-Step Parent Support Plan. We serve a wide range of Arizona families. Many enroll full-time for an accredited path all the way to high school graduation. Others are homeschool families who choose individual courses to supplement their own program. Williamsburg Academy is an approved provider for Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program, and ESA funds can cover up to 100% of our full-time package. The full-time package includes up to six online courses per semester, all required books and supplies shipped to your door, a school Chromebook with internet filtering, weekly office hours, study labs Monday through Friday, and one-on-one tutoring. Homeschool families can also use ESA funds to register for individual courses. What sets us apart is how rigorous academics and genuine flexibility work together. We are accredited by Cognia and ACS WASC and are NCAA certified. Our full-time students outperform their peers on the ACT and SAT and go on to world-class universities. Families on Niche.com have rated us 5 stars. Most importantly, students graduate as confident, capable leaders ready for the world they’re entering.
