The core difference: print vs online
Memoria Press is unapologetically low-tech. The grade packages arrive as boxes of books with a printed curriculum manual telling you exactly what to do each day. Latin begins early, recitation is daily, and screens are nearly absent. Many families choose Memoria specifically to keep young children off devices.
Veritas Press built its reputation on technology. The Self-Paced History and Bible courses are interactive online lessons kids genuinely love, with games, memory songs, and quizzes that grade themselves. Veritas Scholars Academy offers live, accredited online classes for upper grades, and Omnibus is its celebrated great-books program for secondary students.
Academic philosophy
Both are rigorous and both are classical, but the flavor differs. Memoria emphasizes mastery and repetition: fewer things, learned deeply, with heavy Latin and classical studies from early grades. Its Simply Classical line for children with learning differences is unique and widely praised.
Veritas emphasizes the sweep of history and Scripture, with its card-based chronology tying Bible and world history together, then funnels older students into Omnibus and live classes.
Cost
Memoria Press grade packages are moderate, and most materials are non-consumable or cheap to replace for siblings. Veritas self-paced courses are priced per course per student, which adds up across multiple children; live online classes cost more still.
