Scottsdale has one of the deepest Christian preschool benches in the Valley — church-based programs, full-day Pre-K at established Christian academies, and Christ-centered microschools that start at age 3. Here's how to find the right fit for your 2s, 3s, 4s, or Pre-K family in 2026.

The Scottsdale Christian preschool landscape

Scottsdale's Christian early-childhood market is anchored by three lanes:

  1. Church-based preschools — Scottsdale Bible, North Scottsdale Christian, Scottsdale Baptist, and several PCA and Lutheran churches all run part-time (2, 3, or 5 morning) preschools. These are the largest network by seat count and usually the most affordable.
  2. K–12 Christian academies with a Pre-K wing — Scottsdale Christian Academy and other established schools operate Pre-K classes that feed directly into Kindergarten on the same campus.
  3. Christ-centered microschools — smaller, boutique programs like Arizona Gifted Academy and Beacon of Light Learning blend Bible-based learning with mixed-age classrooms starting at Preschool/Pre-K.

Why Scottsdale is a distinct preschool market

  • High demand, high price point. Scottsdale full-day Pre-K commonly runs $9,000–$12,000/year. Part-time church programs are much more accessible ($3,000–$5,500).
  • Waitlists at the 3s and 4s levels. The strongest church programs and academy Pre-Ks fill in January–February for the following fall.
  • Deep Christian community. North Scottsdale in particular has one of the largest evangelical family concentrations in Arizona, so program quality and options are strong.

How to evaluate a Scottsdale Christian preschool

  1. Statement of faith — get a copy before you tour.
  2. Curriculum — Bible, phonics, math readiness, and how much play vs. seatwork.
  3. Teacher tenure — who teaches your child's classroom, and how long have they been there.
  4. Ratios — Arizona licensing allows up to 1:8 for 3s and 1:15 for 4s. Christian preschools usually run tighter.
  5. Kindergarten pathway — if the school has an on-campus K, ask what percentage of Pre-K families stay.
  6. All-in cost — registration, supply fees, chapel fees, field trips.

Tour timeline

If Scottsdale doesn't fit

Homeschool preschool in Scottsdale

Every major Christian homeschool co-op in Scottsdale — Classical Conversations, Branches, and Veritas among them — runs a Pre-K class one morning a week. Chapel, story time, art, peers. Low cost, high community, and it keeps your 3s and 4s at home the rest of the week. See the Scottsdale Christian homeschool co-op guide.
